INDIAN AVIATION MINISTRY WILL NOT STALL NEW AIRLINES

After an attempt by the Federation of Indian Airlines to enlist the aid of the prime minister to stall the entrance of two new Tata Group airlines in India, the Indian aviation ministry has stated that it will not stop any airline from starting operations in the country based on objections by existing airlines.

“The ministry is acting on well laid down policies. The policies are clear and it cannot act based on individual interpretations,” aviation secretary Ashok Lavasa said.

Tata Sons have joined with Singapore Airlines (SIA) to launch a full-service airline in India and with AirAsia to launch a new low-fare airline.
