Icelandic carrier PLAY carried 61,798 passengers in January 2023, which it said was over five times the January 2022 passenger load.
The airline said its Tenerife route "had an impressive load factor of over 90%", while the Paris route fared almost as well.
The carrier's overall load factor in January was 76% compared to an 82.8% load factor in December 2022, which it said was "very satisfactory for a traditionally difficult month in travel".
Around 30% of PLAY passengers in January were travelling from Iceland, 37% were travelling to Iceland and 32% were connecting passengers.
The carrier added three Danish cities to its route network in January, with a connection also offered to Dusseldorf in Germany. The launches came ahead of its planned expansion to North America in mid-2023.
"Our capacity in summer 2023 is growing by close to 77% compared to summer 2022 and we are adding four new aircraft to our fleet and welcoming around 200 new team members, it is a real pleasure to see the PLAY team continuously growing stronger and working hard on reaching our goals for the year,” said chief executive Birgir Jónsson.
