Icelandair has reported a 9% growth in annual traffic, carrying 4.7 million passengers during 2024.
The Icelandic flag carrier saw passenger traffic through its hub in Keflavik increase by 29% in comparison to the year prior. In total passenger traffic travelling via Iceland accounted for 45% of the airline's overall capacity for the year.
Passenger numbers travelling from Iceland increased by 3%, passenger numbers travelling to the country decreased by 6% and traffic within Iceland decreased by 1%, when compared to the year prior.
Icelandair also recorded an increase in its passenger load factor for the year, rising by 10.2 percentage points to 82.6%.
Away from full-year results, the carrier served 312 thousand passengers during the month of December, an increase of 18% in comparison to the same period of 2023.
