Icelandair passenger numbers increased 7% during February 2025, with the airline carrying 251,000 passengers throughout the month.
Results from Iceland's flag carrier indicate the largest increase in traffic was seen in transatlantic passengers connecting through the airline’s hub in Reykjavik, increasing by 16% in comparison to the year prior. In contrast, passenger numbers on domestic routes within Iceland decreased by 15% in comparison to figures from February 2024.
Capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASKs) increased by 8% during the month, in comparison to the same month of the year prior. Traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) also increased, up by 12% on 2024.
Passenger load factors rose by 3.2 percentage points, averaging at 79.8% for the month.
