Horizon Aircraft has appointed Justin Chapman as a senior technical advisor, to support the company’s aircraft system development, focusing on electronics, batteries, and electric propulsion.
Chapman has previously held senior positions at Rolls-Royce, including chief of electronics, where he helped lead advanced aerospace projects.
“I’m thrilled to be supporting Horizon Aircraft in their revolutionary Cavorite X7 project,” said Chapman, “I will use all my experience from aerospace and beyond to help develop the full-scale demonstrator. I’m excited to be a small part of Horizon’s ‘Real World Ready’ hybrid eVTOL.”
The Cavorite X7 aircraft features a patented wing system that allows it to operate similarly to conventional aircraft. In January the company signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Chilean helicopter operator Discovery Air Chile to lease five Cavorite X7 eVTOLs. Deliveries are projected for 2028.
Chapman’s addition to the team strengthens Horizon’s technical capabilities as it moves forward with building its flagship aircraft, the company stated.
