Hong Kong Airways poised to return to healthy growth trajectory

Hong Kong Airways has secured its strategic investment fund, the airline said at a ceremony at Hong Kong Training Academy.  With this the airline’s financial restructuring can now take effect and the airline can expediate its business recovery and return the airline to a healthy growth trajectory.

Marking a significant milestone in the airline’s history the airline said: “HKA reaffirms the company's commitment to contributing to Hong Kong's aviation industry and the city it has called home for over 16 years."

Addressing the audience, Hou Wei, Chairman, HKA said: "After three incredibly challenging years, Hong Kong Airlines is ready to embark on a new chapter with our valued stakeholders, business partners and customers, thanks to their unwavering support and ongoing confidence in the company.

"In the year ahead, our focus remains on business recovery, supported by strategic route planning and fleet realignment. The company will strive to offer our customers more choices and top-notch service, strengthening our role in developing Hong Kong as a world-class aviation hub." he added.

HKA has a fleet of 30 Airbus aircraft that includes, 12 A320-200s, 10 A330-200s, six A330-300s and two A350-900s.

The airline agreed on a restructuring plan in 2022 to avoid liquidation due to debts of around $6 billion.
