Hainan Airlines is increasing its capacity on the Berlin-Beijing route from thrice weekly to four weekly services. This move by the airline comes on the backdrop of its 15th anniversary since that start of Berlin-Beijing route.
Over the last 15 years, the carrier has operated the route more than 4,500 times, handling almost 900,000 passengers and 56,000 tonnes of cargo.
Congratulating Hainan Airlines on the route anniversary, Aletta von Massenbach, chief executive, Brandenburg Airport said: “Long-term success shows that the demand for long-haul tourism and business travel is permanently stable in the connected cultural and economic metropolises. The decision for the route enables a lively city partnership between Berlin and Beijing.”
Min Zhang, general manager, Berlin Office, Hainan Airlines added: “We are pleased that we are once again able to offer our passengers a range of flights between our countries that is close to the level of the pre-pandemic year 2019. Hainan Airlines is the bridge between the two capitals and also conveniently connects Berlin with many destinations in China and in Asia via Beijing, such as Tokyo and Bangkok.”
