Germany’s Hahn Airport said on April 3, 2025, that it has seen passenger numbers increase by over 30% during the first quarter of year, when compared to figures recorded in the same period of 2024.
In total, 440 thousand passengers travelled through the airport during the three-month period.
"Airlines have also expanded their services at Hahn Airport,” said Rüdiger Franke, managing director at the airport. Franke said he expects Hahn to serve 2.2 million passengers by the end of the year.
The airport also saw an increase in the amount of cargo handled, with around 22 thousand tons of air freight passing through Hahn during the three-month period. This is around an 8% increase, when looking at the comparable period of 2024.
“With its 24-hour operating permit, Hahn Airport remains attractive,” noted Franke. “However, it remains to be seen how the current geopolitical uncertainties will affect the cargo business."
Hahn Airport is also pushing ahead with digitalisation, including self-drop-off terminals. This will also further reduce check-in and waiting times for passengers.
