GOL Linhas Aéreas brings onboard digital navigation enhancing efficiency and safety

GOL Linhas Aéreas recently got an approval from National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to use digital navigation onboard its aircraft. With this technology the airline will ensure more efficiency and safety in its operations, enhancing passenger time and making significant gains for the environment.

Digital navigation has a lot of advantages like making navigation easier and more accurate, paper savings, reduced printing costs, creates fuel savings, reduces emissions of polluting gases, and reduces operational costs, underlining one of GOL’s main sustainability goals for this year.

Danilo Andrade, Operations Director, said: ““The use of digital information reduces the workload, provides information in a more orderly and interactive way, increases punctuality, and improves in a more orderly and interactive way, increases punctuality and improves flight safety since pilots can focus on other relevant tasks.”

“GOL has been employing digital navigation since March 2023. Prior to that, the information needed by the pilots to navigate was printed out for each flight, with an average of 25 pages, and often required the use of combustion vehicles to be delivered to the aircraft. Nowadays, it is available on tablets in the cockpit,” the airline said in a statement.
