Austrian Airlines, Germanwings and Swiss have been named as the most ski friendly because they don’t charge extra to check in ski equipment.
Ryanair was derided as the most expensive airline for ski equipment carriage in the low cost sector, because they charge £40 per item if booked online and £50 per item at the airport. Easyjet and Bmibaby are cheaper, charging £18.50 and £17.99 respectively per item if booked online.
British Airways, Air Canada and Air France incorporate the cost of carrying skis as part of their free baggage allowance.
