It has been announced that German Aircraft Maintenance GmbH (GAM) has had to file for insolvency at the beginning of June 2019, due to what is being described as "economic reasons".
Hans-Achim Ernst was appointed as provisional insolvency administrator. After stabilising the operational business, the provisional insolvency administrator now has initiated a structured search for investors.
"Our clear objective is to maintain GAM at its current location," Ernst explains. "We are confident that we can offer a suitable starting for a strategic buyer with our existing skilled workers with many years of expertise.
Uwe Borgers from Mentor AG, who is in charge to implement the search for investors, commented: "Our focus in the search for investors is on strategic interested parties from the field of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO).
"GAM could also be a suitable complementary maintenance base for airlines and leasing companies seeking spare capacity. “
