Frontier Airlines introduced complimentary seating upgrades for its elite status loyalty members on January 15, 2025. The scheme will allow those eligible to upgrade to both premium seating and its ‘upfront plus’ seating. Later in the year, the airline will allow upgrades to its new first class seating.
“We have so much in store for 2025 as we write the next chapter of the new Frontier and show that luxury and affordability can fly hand in hand,” said Frontier chief commercial officer Bobby Schroeter. “Frontier's most loyal customers will have even more reason to make their airline of choice."
Platinum members are eligible to upgrade up to 12 hours before departure and gold members can upgrade up to four hours before.
The company's ‘the new frontier’ strategy will allow for other product offerings including first class seating on every flight in late 2025, as well as allowing platinum and diamond elite members to fly with a companion for free. Frontier will also allow for miles to be redeemed for baggage, seating upgrades and other products from mid-2025. In addition, Frontier has scrapped cancellation and change fees for economy, premium, and business customers.
