Frontier Airlines flight attendants vote to authorise strike action

Flight attendants at Frontier Airlines – represented by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) – have voted to authorise a strike.

Out of 92.7% 0f Frontier flight attendants participating in the vote, 99.6% voted in favour of strike authorisation with these results coming as airline management “refuses to negotiate over the impact of the carrier’s business model change,” said AFA in a statement.

“Frontier Flight Attendants are struggling to earn a living because of management’s new ‘out-and-back’ model. The impact of this change has turned our lives and our paychecks upside down,” said Jennifer Sala, AFA Frontier president.

She continued: “The harm is real and happening right now. We’re ready to do whatever it takes to bring management to the table.”

The authorisation by the members empowers the union to set a strike deadline, if necessary.

This decision comes just days after a ballot conducted by Frontier Airlines pilots – represented by the Air Line Pilots Association – found that 99% of the 97% of pilots who voted are in favour of authorising strike action if negotiations with the airline’s management should be unsuccessful.
