Forsythe retires from Macquarie AirFinance; replaced by Liam Kavanagh

Macquarie AirFinance has announced that Liam Kavanagh will be taking over from Harry Forsythe as its new Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, effective December 1, 2015.  Harry will be retiring from Macquarie AirFinance and leaving San Francisco to return to his family home in Sydney, Australia. Liam will be based in the London office.

John Willingham, Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie AirFinance, commented:  "We are delighted that Liam has agreed to take on this new, expanded role to integrate our aircraft acquisition, leasing and disposal processes.  In this new role, Liam will be based in our London office.  His extensive experience in the industry makes him ideally suited to lead our marketing, trading, customer relations and origination activities."

Liam started his aircraft finance career with National Westminster Bank, serving 10 years in corporate and investment banking.  He joined Halifax (later HBOS) in 1999 where he led deal origination in North America and subsequently deal origination and airline relationship management on a global basis.  He was appointed Managing Director and Head of Aircraft Finance in 2008.  Liam joined Macquarie AirFinance in September 2011 as SVP Trading and, since then, he has successfully closed more than 30 sales and acquisitions of aircraft for the company.
