Mike Whitaker, former administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has been appointed to IndiGo’s board of directors as an independent director.
Whitaker resigned from his position at the FAA in January, as the newly elected Trump administration took office.
“His focus on efficiency, operations, air safety as head of the FAA will reinforce IndiGo’s longstanding focus on operating at the highest levels,” said Rahul Bhatia, managing director of IndiGo.
Bhatia also stated that Whitaker's experience in international governmental affairs will be “hugely instrumental” as IndiGo continues its global expansion.
