Flexjet granted authorisation to operate domestic private jet flights in Saudi Arabia

Flexjet, a US-based private jet operator, has received authorisation to operate on-demand domestic private jet flights in Saudi Arabia.

The authorisation follows regulatory changes that were introduced in May this year, opening up Saudi Arabia’s domestic market for private jet travel to international operators for the first time.

Flexjet is only the second international operator to be granted the authorisation, which is issued by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

“Authorising Flexjet to operate domestic on-demand private flights demonstrates GACA’s commitment to enabling high-quality aviation services built on the highest international safety standards,” said Awad bin Attallah Al-Sulami, EVP for economic policies and logistics services at GACA.

“This milestone enhances competition, elevates customer experience, and supports the wider transformation of the Saudi aviation ecosystem in line with Vision 2030.”

The first international private jet operator to be approved to serve Saudi Arabia's domestic market was VistaJet, which received the authorisation in August.
