Finnair to cancel around 110 flights due to industrial action at Helsinki Airport

Finnair said it will cancel further flights as a result of industrial action at Helsinki Airport.

The company said around 110 flights will be cancelled on May 30 after the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) announced further industrial actions at the airport, following on from previous industrial actions impacting Finnair's flights.

The cancellations are expected to impact around 8,000 Finnair customers. The airline said it will offer customers alternative flights where possible.

“We're deeply sorry that our customers' important travel plans are once again disrupted,” said Finnair CEO Jaako Schildt. “We are doing everything we can to provide our customers with alternative routing as quickly as possible.”

The industrial actions will disrupt operations such as baggage and ground handling, and aircraft maintenance, impacting Finnair's schedule.
