JET TURNS TO RIVAL TO SOLVE PILOT SHORTAGE

Jet Airways has recently hired benched pilots from Kingfisher Airlines to solve its pilot shortage.

Benched pilots are on the rolls of Kingfisher but whose services are not being utilised because of a lack of demand. Although Jet has denied the action, Kingfisher confirmed the local media that it has allowed its rival to hire 29 of its benched pilots as commanders.

Although this may solved the immediate problem of a dearth of experience pilots for Jet, existing pilots at the airline are opposed to the influx of new pilots from Kingfisher when many have been refused promotions or payrises.
