Finnair carried 968,000 passengers during April, a 6.6% increase on the same period of the year prior, with the airline citing gains in Asian, North Atlantic, European and domestic traffic but noted a slump on routes to the Middle East.
The airline said that overall capacity increased by 5.9% in April, after the airline introduced new routes to destinations both the US and Japan.
Declines in Middle Eastern traffic can be attributed to the end of cooperation with Qatar Airways on flights between Stockholm, Copenhagen and Doha in January, the airline confirmed.
Average passenger load factor increased by 3.1 percentage points, when compared to the same month of 2024, averaging at 75.7%. Load factors saw improvements in Asian, European and Middle Eastern traffic but declined on North Atlantic and domestic routes.
