Finnair is cancelling 80 flights on July 4, 2025, following a fresh round of industrial action announced by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU), impacting all essential ground services related to Finnair flights at Helsinki Airport.
This action comes after a turbulent June for the Finnish carrier, as it was forced to cancel hundreds of flights due to industrial action by the IAU at its main hub.
These walkouts stem from a dispute over pay increases between the IAU and the Service Sector Employers group Palta. In the latest round of discussions between the two parties, the IAU said that “not a single way forward” has been found, on the basis of which both parties could have accepted that they would start negotiating the details of a possible negotiation outcome.
Around 8,000 Finnair customers are expected to be impacted by these latest cancellations.
The IAU has also announced industrial action on July 7, 16, 18, 21, and 23, with Finnair stating that it is still assessing the potential impacts of these actions.
