Finnair cancelled 100 flights on July 7, 2025, after the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) announced fresh strike action at Helsinki Airport.
This follows the cancellation of 80 Finnair flights on July 4, 2025, as the IAU continue to conduct strike action, impacting all essential ground services at Finland's busiest airport.
These walkouts stem from a dispute over pay increases between the IAU and the service sector employers group Palta. In the latest round of discussions between the two parties, the IAU said that “not a single way forward” has been found, on the basis of which both parties could have accepted that they would start negotiating the details of a possible negotiation outcome.
The airline said that these latest cancellations will affect the travel plans of roughly 7,200 customers.
The IAU also plans to conduct industrial action on July 16, 18, 21, and 23, 2025.
