Falko outlines second quarter activity

Aircraft leasing and asset management company Falko said it was involved in transactions relating to 22 aircraft and one engine during the quarter, the company shared in an update on July 9, 2025.

Falko chief commercial officer Mark Hughes said: "The persistent trend of airlines extending leases continued into the second quarter."

The company concluded lease extensions relating to 20 aircraft on lease to five customers located in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Lease extensions were split evenly between E-Jets and ATR72 aircraft. Falko completed the sale of two E190 aircraft and one CF34-85C engine to two buyers.

The total number of lease extensions in the first half of 2025 reached 48.

“As well as extension volumes being considerably higher than past years, we are also seeing customers commit to both longer lease terms and rising lease rates as they seek to lock-in capacity where there is limited availability for those aircraft types," added Hughes. "This is a common theme observed across all jurisdictions and not confined to one region, demonstrating the global nature of the aviation market."

Additionally, the Series A loans issued from Falko's aviation ABS, Regional 2021-1, were upgraded from A- to A by KBRA during the quarter. This financing relates to 25 small commercial jets and 12 turboprop aircraft as of June 30, 2025, on lease to nine operators with “broad geographic diversification”, the company said.

Hughes added: “We see this upgrade both as a testament to Falko's role as servicer and also the strong market that we are seeing reflected in our portfolio activity.”

As of June 30, 2025, Falko's managed fleet totalled 211 aircraft leased to 37 customers located worldwide.
