Frontier plane loses wheel on hard landing, FAA investigating

One of the front landing gear wheels of a Frontier Airlines aircraft tore off during a hard landing attempt at Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, local newspaper El Nuevo Día reported.

The incident which occurred on April 15, 2025, happened as the flight from Orlando attempted to land. The A321 returned for another approach and landed safely on a different runway at around 10:20pm local time,

Passengers were deplaned on the airport’s taxiway and were bused to the terminal the terminal building.

A Frontier spokesperson confirmed to Airline Economics that there were no injuries to the passengers or crew.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it will investigate the incident.
