eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing craft) developer Eve Air Mobility is to collaborate with low-cost Saudi carrier flynas to explore the future of eVTOL operations in Saudi Arabia, commencing with the possibility of starting services in Riyadh and Jeddah in 2026.

“This partnership represents not only a milestone in our shared vision for sustainable air travel but also a commitment to shaping a more efficient, eco-friendly and accessible transportation landscape,” said CEO of Eve Johann Bordais.

flynas has transported more than 60 million passengers since its launch in 2007, and was ranked by Skytrax as the world’s fourth best low-cost airline in 2023.

Rival manufacturer Volocopter, who test flew its own eVTOL aircraft in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, is also investigating the possibility of commencing operations in the region. Meanwhile, airline Saudia also plans to operate a network of Lilium eVTOL aircraft after signing a MoU for 100 of the type.
