Airbus has confirmed that Taiwanese carrier EVA Air has placed a firm order for nine aircraft, finalising a commitment announced by the airline in March.
The airline, which placed an aircraft order consisting of six A350-1000s and three A321neo aircraft, said within a stock exchange filing on March 12, 2025, that the purpose of this purchase relates to the “operating needs of the company”.
According to the stock exchange filing, each A350 aircraft is priced at no more than $436 million, while each A321neo aircraft will not exceed $150 million. The total order equates to a value in the region of $3.1bn.
“As we move forward with our fleet and network expansion plans, we look forward to leveraging the aircraft’s extended range and efficiency to strengthen our market position,” said Clay Sun, president of EVA Air.
This new order will bring EVA Air’s backlog of Airbus aircraft to be delivered to 24 A350-1000s and 18 A321neo aircraft.
The delivery timeline for this latest Airbus order has not yet been confirmed.
