Lufthansa Group's Eurowings is marking thirty years since its first flight in early 1993.
The low-cost German carrier, which started off flying propeller planes, has an Airbus A320-based fleet of over 100 aircraft and covers around 140 routes.
"There are very few airlines in Germany that have succeeded for 30 years in a difficult market environment and have repeatedly mastered dynamic changes. It is all the more wonderful that we can celebrate our 30th birthday as Germany's largest holiday airline," said chief executive Jens Bischof.
"We owe this success first and foremost to our more than 4,000 employees from 60 nations who have found their professional home with us," Bischof said.
Over the years, Eurowings has added bases in Austria, Czechia, Spain and Sweden to its five in Germany, where Lufthansa first bought a stake in the carrier in 2001.
