The European Commission is considering whether to lift, modify or keep a ban imposed on Philippine carriers, which are currently banned from flying to the European Union given concerns over the country’s aviation safety standards.
The case was discussed at the Air Safety Committee on June 26 and the commission decision will be taken on July 10.
The EU blacklisted local carriers in 2010 after the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2009 tagged the Philippines as a "significant safety concern."
