Etihad to introduce A350 on services to Sydney

Etihad Airways is set to operate its A350-1000 aircraft on services between Abu Dhabi and Sydney.

Commencing on October 1, 2025, the A350 will join Etihad's Sydney schedule on a number of services, complementing its 787-9 fleet that currently serves the route.

Following the introduction of the A350 on this service, from January 31, 2026, Etihad will fully transition its ten weekly Sydney services to A350 operations.

“When the schedule is fully deployed early next year, we will have grown overall seat availability by ten per cent, and premium seat count by over 20%,” said Arik De, Etihad’s chief revenue and commercial officer.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier currently operates a fleet of five A350 aircraft.
