Etihad carried 1.6 million passengers during the month of October, highlighting growth in passenger traffic with the monthly figure increasing from 1.3 million during the same month of 2023.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways described the airlines performance as showing upwards momentum: “Year-to-date, Etihad has welcomed more than 15 million passengers, marking a substantial 34% increase from the previous year.”
“As of October 2024, the airline's rolling 12-month passenger total stands at 17.8 million, a 73 per cent increase on the figure for the whole of 2022, indicating we are on track to double passenger numbers in under two years,” he added.
Etihad’s capacity also grew, with its passenger load factor up to 87% in October from 86% during the same month of the previous year.
In addition, Etihad has also expanded its operations significantly, growing its fleet from 81 to 96 aircraft and increasing its passenger destinations to 71, up from 68 last October. The airline also announced another a new route to Al Alamein in Egypt, which is set to launch next summer.
