Ethiopian Airlines to add 14 new aircraft this year

In a bid to increase revenues fivefold by 2025, Ethiopian Airlines has confirmed that it will add 14 more new aircraft – including five more 787s – to its fleet during this year. Chief Executive Officer Tewolde Gebremariam told reporters that the airline is currently undergoing a “fast growth” phase and has a target to boost annual sales to $10billion by the end of 2025. By that time, the airline will operate a fleet of 120 aircraft. Currently, Ethiopian has a fleet of 50 aircraft, including the first of 10 787 it has on order and its first 777 Freighter.
