Entebbe International Airport hits record number of passengers in August

Entebbe International Airport - Uganda's only international airport - reported a record level of passengers passing through in August 2024.

Some 217,700 international passengers were facilitated by the airport through the month of August, the highest month in its history, according to Uganda Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson Vianney Luggya.

Its second highest figure was December 2023, with a total of 198,961 passengers.

Around 191,500 passengers passed through the airport in August 2023 - ranking as the fifth busiest month in its history.

In addition, Entebbe handled 3,525 metric tonnes of export and 1,885 metric tonnes of imports: totalling 5,410 metric tonnes in August 2024.
