Emirates is all set to ramp its capacity this summer driven by strong passenger demand. The airline is planning to expand its current operations and reopen several new routes. Emirates will reopen its daily service between Singapore and Melbourne starting March 26, 2023 due to increased customer demand.
The airline has rolled out increased services in Europe all throughout summer. Emirates has announced daily flights to Bologna, Italy, Venice, Italy, and Budapest, Hungary, in early summer. Additionally, Emirates will begin offering a daily service to Athens, Greece, as a seasonal operation.
The airline has ramped its capacity to Africa too for destinations like Dar es Salam in Tanzania, and Entebbe in Uganda with daily service starting May and June respectively.
The airline will fly 28 weekly flights to Cairo, up from 25 by October 2023.
In Australia, Emirates has increased its capacity to thrice daily for Melbourne and fourteen flights per week to Brisbane.
The airline has introduced a fifth flight per day to Bangkok from August 2023 with an additional non-stop daily flight to Hong Kong. Emirates will resume daily services on the Tokyo Haneda route from April 2023.
Emirates is looking to expand its use of the Airbus A380 throughout its services as it continues its route expansion across the world. The airline will begin flying the A380 in several cities, including Glasgow, Casablanca, Beijing, Shanghai, and various others throughout the summer.
Commenting on the A380s deployment, Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates said: “So far, 4 of our A380 aircraft have been completely refurbished with our new cabin interiors and premium economy seats, and more will enter service as our US$2 billion cabin and service enhancement program picks up the pace"
After a slow start this year, Emirates picked pace after the renovation of Dubai airport was completed. Emirates has boosted operations by 31%, in terms of total ASKs. In the past few months, Emirates has reintroduced services to five cities and began launching flights to a new destination, Tel Aviv, Israel. The airline has additionally added over 250 weekly flights to existing routes that have been established.
