Embraer forecasts 10,500 jet and turboprop orders over next 20 years

Embraer expects 10,500 orders for sub-150-seat category jets and turboprops over the next 20 years, estimating that the total value of these orders could hit $680bn.

Detailed within the manufacturers 2025 market outlook, it predicts world passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs), will grow 3.9% annually through to 2044. China is expected to lead among seven global regions, as RPK growth is projected to increase by 5.7% annually.

Following China, Latin America will grow at 4.7%, while Africa and the Middle East will each see a growth of 4.4%.

“As countries and regions pursue greater strategic autonomy, the demand for regional access will continue to grow,” said Arjan Meijer, Embraer president and CEO of Commercial Aviation. “We believe mixed fleets that combine small and large narrowbody aircraft are essential for that long-term growth.”

From these 10,500 expected deliveries, 8,720 are expected to be jets and 1,780 will be turboprops.

North America leads with a 30.7% share of these total jet deliveries – amounting to 2,680 planes. Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is expected to follow with 1,990 aircraft deliveries, with China expecting to take 1,500.

In the turboprop segment, of the 1,780 anticipated deliveries, the Asia Pacific region will take the lead with 640 aircraft. North America follows with 280, and Europe & CIS with 260.
