EL AL launches new route from Tel Aviv to Florida

EL AL Israel Airlines is all set to launch a new route between Tel Aviv and Fort Lauderdale, complementing its route from Tel Aviv to Miami. With the American Airlines ceasing its Miami-Tel Aviv route from March 2023, EL AL is looking to ramp up its capacity to South Florida.

The new seasonal flights will be timed to coincide with the Jewish High Holidays through October, the airline said in a statement.

The airline will commence with six round trips between Tel Aviv and Fort Lauderdale in September and October 2023, during peak travel season. The airline plans to deploy B787-8 on the route with 238-seat-configuration.

“EL AL is thrilled to continue opening new routes and increasing our service in the US,” said Marc Cavaliere, EL AL’s senior vice president for the Americas. “We’ll be operating more than 40 flights a week to Israel, continuing our mission to be the bridge between Israel and the world.”

The airline plans to ramp up its capacity on this route with year-round service starting from Spring 2024. The exact details of frequencies and the launch date haven’t yet been revealed. Besides, the airline is planning to add a sixth weekly flight on its Miami International Airport to Tel Aviv route effective May 23, 2023.

The airline carried over 100,000 passengers on more than 450 flights between Miami and Tel Aviv last year, and the airline claims that the demand for Florida to Israel air travel is on the rise.

“As demand for travel continues to increase from Florida to Israel, across all segments, we’re confident that the new service to Fort Lauderdale will exceed our customers’ expectation for service, convenience and value,” Cavaliere concluded.
