EL AL Airlines CFO to retire

EL AL Israel Airlines CFO Yancale Shahar will retire at the end of November. His retirement marks the end of a near-two-decade tenure at the company.

“The time has come to conclude a significant chapter in my professional life,” Shahar said on LinkedIn.

“I have had the privilege of being part of an organisation that is not only a workplace but also a home.

"I conclude this chapter with a deep sense of satisfaction and pride,” the CFO added.

Shahar joined the company in 2006 as treasurer and was appointed CFO in 2023.

EL AL's current deputy CFO, Gil Feldman, will succeed Shahar from December 1. Feldman also serves as the company's head of budget and economics, having joined the company at the end of 2020.

Also this week, the airline appointed Levy Halevy as its new CEO.

Formerly CEO of Israel Credit Cards (ICC), Halevy will succeed Dina Ben-Tal Ganacia, who confirmed earlier that this year that she would be stepping down from the role. Halevy's start date is yet to be confirmed.
