Capital A Bhd has appointed Effendy Shahul Hamid as deputy chief executive officer, as the group looks to strengthen its leadership team following a major restructuring of its business.
Effendy will take up the role from 6 April 2026, the company said, as it prepares for its next phase of growth after divesting its aviation operations earlier this year. The appointment follows the disposal of Capital A’s airline businesses to AirAsia X in January 2026.
Capital A is now focusing on scaling its remaining businesses, including aircraft maintenance unit Asia Digital Engineering, logistics arm Teleport, travel and mobility platform AirAsia MOVE, brand management business AirAsia Next, and its food and beverage division Santan.
The group said the leadership change is intended to support the expansion of these units as it seeks to build a more diversified portfolio beyond aviation.
