In a sign of both the industry’s cashflow pressures and expectation of when flight demand will rebound EasyJet has brought its Easter 2021 on sale date forward by five months by putting it on sale today.
The early release of these flights gives customers the chance to book flights which cover the two week Easter period including the school holidays between March 28 to April 18 2021. It also provides further options for customers whose travel plans have been disrupted due to the pandemic so they can rebook for this time next year.
In a boost to UK connectivity, easyJet has also announced today that it is adding over 275,000 seats annually on routes once served by Flybe. From August, the capacity will be split across 13 UK touching routes including nine domestics. The new routes comprise Bristol to Paris, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast; Manchester to Paris, Belfast and Amsterdam; Birmingham to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and Luton to Glasgow.
Over 39,000 flights are set to take place across easyJet’s network between 28th March 2021 and 18th April providing over 6.7 million seats for passengers to jet off on an Easter break.
Robert Carey, easyJet chief commercial and planning officer said: “We know many people’s Easter holiday plans have been disrupted this year and so we’ve taken the decision to put our Easter flights for 2021 on sale early so our customers can either book a new break or, if they are rearranging their travel plans, have even more dates and destinations to choose from.”
