EasyJet flew 6,559,802 passengers in June 2015, a 7.6% increase year on year from June 2014. Load factor was up 0.7 percentage points to 92.7%, from the 92% in June 2014. EasyJet flight cancellations increased year on year though at 487 in June 2015 from 380 in June 2014.
For July, strike action by easyJet staff could cause extensive disruption during the key summer holiday period. British cabin crew staff are planning to walk out over pay after talks between the unions and easyJet broke down following months of negotiations. EasyJet has said it is confident that its summer flight schedule will operate as usual and is reassuring its passengers "that there is no industrial action currently planned by its UK cabin crew". However, Unite is expected to announce its intention to ballot for strike action tomorrow.
EasyJet stated that it will increase pay 4.1% for crew and 5.1% for crew managers anyway without further delay. It should be noted that Unite members are in a minority at EasyJet.
EasyJet shares remain close to 20% down from their high of 1,915 in April 2015.
