Dubai International Airport handles record number of passengers during first half

Dubai International Airport (DXB) handled 46 million passengers during the first six months of 2025, marking its busiest first half on record.

The 2.3% growth on the same period of the year prior comes after the Middle East experienced temporary regional airspace disruptions in May and June, impacting services to and from the city. Disruptions were caused by ongoing airspace closures over Iran, Iraq, and Syria, linked to conflict between Israel and Iran.

“DXB’s continued growth through a period of regional challenges highlights the strength of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the agility of our operations, and the commitment of our airport community,” said Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.

Average monthly traffic during the first half stood at approximately 7.7 million passengers, with daily volumes averaging at 254,000. January was the busiest month of the period and set a new monthly record, with 8.5 million passengers.

Based on current traffic data and a “positive” outlook, Griffithis expects annual traffic at the airport to reach 96 million this year.

Average monthly traffic during the first half stood at approximately 7.7 million, with daily volumes averaging 254,000. January was the busiest month of the period and also set a new monthly record, with 8.5 million guests.
