dnata ensures smooth transit for over 150,000 football fans in 14 days of FIFA

dnata served over 150,000 football fans traveling between Dubai and Doha during an opening couple weeks of the FIFA World Cup 2022.  Daily flights between Dubai and Doha went up from six to a whopping 48 in time for the tournament's launch, with over 150,000 football fans passing through Dubai, dnata said.

With several airlines operating shuttle services between Dubai, Doha, and other Gulf nations, Dubai World Central Airport (DWC) has become an integral transiting hub for football fans. dnata claimed that its services have led to smooth operations of over 600 successful flight movements over the first fortnight of FIFA 2022.

Jaffar Dawood, Senior Vice President for UAE Airport Operations at dnata, said: “We are dedicated to ensuring an excellent journey for all football supporters by providing a swift and efficient service at DWC so that they can enjoy their fan experience for as long as possible. We thank our airline partners for their trust in our services, and will continue to support their initiatives."

dnata has made ample preparations for the traffic surge during the competition by repositioning over 270 customer and ramp agents from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and 90 pieces of ground support equipment (GSE).
