Delta is to significantly expand its European network during the summer period of 2025 with new routes to Naples, Rome, Milan, Athens, Barcelona, Dublin, Munich, Zurich, Brussels and the first ever direct service from a US carrier to Catania, Sicily.
“With over 700 weekly flights to 33 European destinations and beyond, we’re expanding access to key cities like Barcelona and Dublin with new routes, while introducing our first-ever nonstop service to Catania, Sicily,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning.
He added: “We’ve also recently opened a stunning Delta One Lounge at JFK, with more to come at LAX, BOS, and SEA. Alongside the rollout of free international Wi-Fi and increased premium seating across our fleet, we’re ensuring our customers enjoy the best in connectivity and comfort from the moment they arrive at the airport to when they touch down.”
The airline will introduce new routes from Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, New York and Minneapolis.
In response to the airlines network expansion - Wayne County Airport Authority CEO - Chad Newton commented: “Delta's 2025 summer schedule will provide our passengers with even more opportunities for international travel. More than one million people with Irish heritage call Michigan home and we expect this first-ever DTW to Dublin route will be in high-demand.”
While Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner, Pat Wilson said: “Building from our recent economic development mission to Italy, this new direct service between Atlanta and Naples is a welcome addition that will further strengthen Georgia’s longstanding bilateral partnerships.”
More routes will also be operated by Delta’s A350-900 aircraft, offering increased premium seating on trans-Atlantic flights.
