JetBlue Airways has confirmed that it will launch scheduled commercial flights from the United States to Cuba on August 31, 2016 ahead of competitors. JetBlue will launch thrice-weekly flights between the Fort Lauderdale and Santa Clara airport, with fares starting at $99 one-way, with daily flights from October 1, 2016, also offering daily flights from Fort Lauderdale to Camaguey from November 3 and to Holguin from November 10. Silver Airways is set to be the second U.S. airline to operate flights from the United States to Cuba, launching service from Fort Lauderdale to Santa Clara on September 1. American Airlines will start services from Miami to Cienfuegos and Holguin on September 7, 2016, adding flights to Camaguey and Santa Clara on 9th September and to Varadero on September 11.
