German leisure carrier Condor has become the latest airline to reduce operations from Hamburg Airport during the summer period of 2025.
The airline joins Ryanair and Eurowings as the third operator to reduce services from German airport.
Condor is reducing its capacity from Hamburg by 13% - with services to Samos, Greece and Malaga being completely removed from its flight schedule - while flights to Kos, Greece will be significantly reduced.
“We are not only cutting capacity in Hamburg, but also our planned growth in summer 2025 - a logical consequence of the threat of a completely disproportionate increase in charges in Hamburg,” says Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor.
He added: “With these significantly increased costs, we are not only forced to relocate flights from Hamburg to other locations, but also to increase prices. This is particularly regrettable for our customers there, especially as Hamburg had reliable solutions that would have prevented such a development. To date, this has failed due to the airport's unwillingness to reach an agreement with the airport users.”
Just last week - on October 11, 2024 - Eurowings announced a reduction in its operations from Hamburg Airport during 2025 as “location costs are too high,” the airline said in a statement. The German carrier will remove over one thousand flights from its programme, that were set to depart to and from Hamburg.
Similarly Ryanair will also reduce the number of flights operated out of Hamburg by 60% during the summer period of next year.
