China's SF Express is launching a bond issue to raise CYN5.8 billion in the investment of new aircraft as it plans expansion.

The group has said it will earmark CYN1.52 billion in expanding the fleet of the SF Airlines division, with approximately CYN1.49 billion to be spent on developing a logistics information platform.

The Shenzhen-based group has lined up three 757-200s for conversion with Precision Aircraft Solutions, and now stands to bring the total number of freighters in its own-controlled fleet to 60 units by early 2020.

It has also said it is planning to make its North American debut later this year. According to reports it is looking to start a three times a week service from Hangzhou to New York.
