China Express opens a new hangar at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport

China Express Airlines recently opened a brand-new hangar as a part of its phase II expansion plan in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing. Located at the northern end of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. The hangar can accommodate four Airbus A320s simultaneously.

With a fleet of about 40 CRJ900s, China Express is one of the few CRJ operators in the Asia Pacific

Most of the line and heavy maintenance of China Express’ fleet, comprising A320s, Bombardier CRJ900s, and ARJs, is carried out by its main maintenance organisation Hua Xia Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. China Express currently has a fleet of 63 aircraft

China Express was the first private airline in China to take delivery of the home-grown ARJ21 regional jet with plans to buy a mix of 100 ARJ21s and C919s, giving a boost to Chinese plane maker Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).

China Express predicts COMAC planes will account for the majority of its fleet by 2025.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) will offer favorable airport slots to domestically made airplanes and favor them in fleet planning.
