Centrum Air, the start-up Uzbek airline, recently took delivery of two Airbus A320s. The airline has already incorporated two 737s in its fleet and is expecting delivery of a third A320 in the next few days taking the total fleet count to five.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmonov, CEO of Centrum Air, said: "Our decision to start a new airline reflects the success of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s economic reforms and his strong support for the development of private sector capacities in both the transportation and tourism sectors. Establishing a low-cost airline will enable many more people to enjoy the benefits of air travel and help to develop connectivity domestically, in the region, and internationally."

Centrum Air was established by Uzbek cargo airline MyFreighter and aims to break into the low-cost domestic and international markets by expanding the fleet size to 20 by the end of this year and 100 by 2026.

The airline plans to provide service to five domestic destinations - Nukus, Urgench, Termez, Namangan, and Fergana and 15 countries in international network including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, India, and South Korea.
