Cathay Pacific said the airline and its sister carrier HK Express will reach 100% of pre-pandemic capacity from January 2025. The company added that both airlines project to operate passenger services to 100 destinations globally within 2025.
The statement comes ahead of the airline's hub, Hong Kong International Airport, commissioning its three-runway system. The airline said it is, “proud to support the continued development of its home hub".
“I am particularly pleased that the successful completion of Cathay's rebuild coincides with the opening of the three-runway system,” said Cathay Group CEO Ronald Lam. “We can now truly put the pandemic behind us and firmly focus on the future.”
Lam added that the three-runway system will be a “landmark moment for Hong Kong”.
