Cathay Pacific will resume a direct service to Rome on June 5, 2025, following a five-year suspension of services to the Italian capital.
The Hong Kong-based carrier ceased operations to Rome in February 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, with this new route complementing the airline's existing daily service to Milan.
“Rome has long been an important destination for Cathay Pacific and a popular one among our customers," said Cathay's chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau. “We first launched flights to the city in 1986 and we are thrilled to be back once again.”
Flights to Rome will be operated three times weekly by the airline's fleet of A350-900 aircraft.
In addition to Rome, Cathay Pacific will also launch flights to Munich and Brussels during the summer period, expanding its European network to 12 destinations.
