Worldwide cargo tonnages during the tenth week of 2025 were stable in comparison to the previous week and were 2% higher than the same week of the year prior, according to data from WorldACD.
Asia Pacific chargeable weight rose 5% in comparison to the week prior, nearing mid-January levels, pre-Lunar New Year. However, declines in Central and South America of 9%, declines of 3% in Europe, and 2% in North America offset this gain.
In addition, global spot rates averaged $2.55 per kg during week 10. When compared to the same week of 2024, rates were up 8%, with a notable increase of 11% in the Asia Pacific region.
However, Asia Pacific to Europe spot rates fell 3% in comparison to the previous week to $3.91 per kg, mainly driven by a 5% drop from China.
