Canadian flight attendants  are to hold what they say is a "day of action" against unpaid work at some of the country's main airports.represented

The demonstrations are part of efforts to end what the attendants described as "the rampant abuse of unpaid work in the airline industry".

"Flight attendants in Canada are not paid for boarding, delays, deplaning, and many other duties. They are tired of working 35 hours unpaid every month, on average," they said in a statement.

The protests are scheduled for April 25 at Calgary International, Vancouver International and Montreal-Trudeau, and are backed by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Airline Division, which represents "approximately 18,500 flight attendants" at Air Canada, WestJet, Air Transat, Sunwing, Calm Air, PAL Airlines, Canadian North, Flair Airlines, Pivot, and PasCan.
